Day 3 is upon us! And I’m going to catch shit for this one I know it. Let’s start off easy…
Perpagillium “Peri” Brown

I didn’t much care for Peri… she whined more than she did anything useful and, to my memory at least, she’s the first companion (and only) to complain about the purely aesthetic aspect of the Doctor’s regeneration from 5 to 6. Because “I have to live with it!” Doesn’t he have to live with it too, Peri? I also didn’t care for how she was so hyper-critical of his ‘fashion sense’ and yet she looked more like some odd type of Barbie every other episode. (I realize it was the 80’s but… bit hard to run from danger in heels, folks.)
and special part 2 (because it’s kind of a tie).
Rose Tyler

Here is where the hate will come in.
I don’t care for Rose Tyler as a companion. As a character, she’s probably perfectly fine but as a companion she’s just not a good fit. She’s very entitled, a painfully obvious only child, and she treats her poor friend Mickey terribly. She’s the first companion I know of who has ever taken the Doctor’s regeneration as a personal affront. As if he’d done it on purpose to upset her somehow. She gets somewhat possessive of the Doctor which, in my way of thinking, is something he wouldn’t really like. The Doctor has always been a very free spirit and while he has always enjoyed having company, I honestly can’t picture him with a domestic life for any reason and we all know that that’s what it would have come to. Aside from all this, Poor Amorous little Mickey comes at her every beck and call and she treats him rather like a dog. She wants to keep him in arms reach in case she needs him but doesn’t want him to get too close because she’s with the Doctor. It’s a poor way to treat someone who you have known all your life just because someone new and exciting (however terribly exciting the Doctor might be) shows up.
